Web application development

Web app development for SaaS products, dashboards and portals

We design and build fast, secure web apps in React and TypeScript, from the first login screen to billing, realtime data and an admin your team actually likes using.

  • Fixed-scope estimate before any code
  • Weekly demos on a live URL
  • You own the code and IP

A web app that works on every device, from day one

A web app is often the fastest way to put real software in front of customers. There is no app store review, no install step and one codebase that runs on laptops, tablets and phones. For SaaS products, internal dashboards, client portals and booking or ordering systems, the browser is usually where the work happens anyway.

Our web app development is built around what makes software feel good to use: pages that load quickly, screens that update in realtime when a teammate changes something, sign-in and payments that just work, and an interface that keyboard and screen-reader users can navigate. We also care about what happens outside the app: server-rendered public pages that search engines can read, so your marketing site and product help each other.

Loha.dev is a small software company in Albuquerque, New Mexico, working with clients across the US and internationally. You work directly with the engineer who builds your app, with no account-manager layer, and you see progress every week on a live preview link.

Why build it as a web app

  • Launch faster, update instantly

Ship to a URL instead of waiting on app store approval. Fixes and new features reach every user the moment we deploy, with no update prompt.

  • Found on Google, not just in a store

Server-side rendering lets search engines index your public pages, pricing and docs, so organic traffic can feed straight into sign-ups.

  • One codebase for every screen

A responsive React app adapts to desktop, tablet and mobile. Add installable PWA support and it can live on a home screen without a separate build.

  • Realtime by default

Shared lists, live dashboards, chat and status updates sync across users and devices without anyone hitting refresh.

  • Fast where your users are

Deployed on Cloudflare's edge network, pages and APIs respond from a location near each visitor, which helps Core Web Vitals and conversion.

What you get

Every web app project ends with working software in production and everything your team needs to run it.

  • Product plan and UX flows

User roles, key screens and the happy path mapped before development, so scope and estimate are grounded in what you actually need.

  • Responsive interface

A clean, accessible UI built in React and TypeScript that works on desktop and mobile browsers, aimed at WCAG 2.2 AA.

  • Authentication and roles

Email, magic link or social sign-in, team invitations, and permissions for admins, members and customers.

  • Billing and subscriptions

Stripe checkout, subscription plans, trials, invoices and a customer billing portal, wired to access rules in your app.

  • Backend, database and APIs

A realtime backend with Convex or Postgres where it fits, plus integrations with the tools you already use.

  • Admin dashboard

Internal screens to manage users, content and data, so your team is not editing a database by hand.

  • SEO and performance setup

Server-rendered public pages, metadata, sitemap and structured data, tuned for good Core Web Vitals scores.

  • Deployment and handover

Production hosting, environments, monitoring and documentation, with the full source in your own repository.

How a web app project runs

A short, predictable process with a working preview link early and a demo every week.

  1. Step 1: Free app plan

    Timeline: 1–3 days

Answer a short questionnaire. We reply with a plan covering scope, recommended stack and a typical cost range.

  2. Step 2: Discovery and scope

    Timeline: 1 week

We agree on users, screens, integrations and what is out of scope, then lock a fixed-scope estimate.

  3. Step 3: Design and clickable flows

    Timeline: 1–2 weeks

Wireframes and key screens you can click through, so you can react to the product before it is built.

  4. Step 4: Build in weekly increments

    Timeline: 4–10 weeks

Features land on a live staging URL every week. You test, comment and reprioritize as we go.

  5. Step 5: Launch

    Timeline: 1 week

Performance and accessibility checks, production deploy, domain, analytics and error monitoring.

  6. Step 6: Iterate after launch

    Timeline: Ongoing

Optional ongoing work to ship improvements based on real usage and feedback.

Who we build web apps for

  • SaaS founders

You need a subscription product with sign-up, billing and a core workflow that customers will pay for.

  • Businesses replacing spreadsheets

Your team runs on shared sheets and email threads, and you want a dashboard or internal tool built for your process.

  • Service companies adding a client portal

Give customers a place to log in, see status, upload files, pay invoices and message your team.

  • Teams that need a web version of their mobile app

Add a browser app or admin panel that shares the same backend and data as your iOS and Android apps.

The stack we use for web apps

We pick proven, widely used tools so your app is fast today and easy for any good developer to maintain later.

React + TypeScript
The most widely adopted way to build web interfaces. TypeScript catches bugs before users do and makes the codebase easier to hand over.
React Router with server rendering
Pages render on the server for quick first loads and full SEO, then become interactive in the browser.
Convex
A realtime backend that keeps data in sync across users and devices, ideal for collaborative tools and live dashboards.
Cloudflare Workers
Edge hosting that serves your app close to every user, scales automatically and keeps hosting costs predictable.
Stripe
Reliable payments, subscriptions and invoicing, with a hosted billing portal your customers already trust.
Postgres and AI APIs when needed
A relational database for reporting-heavy apps, and OpenAI or Anthropic models for search, summaries or assistants inside the product.

Web app vs native mobile app: which fits?
What mattersWeb appNative mobile app
Time to launchFastest. Deploy to a URL, no store review.Longer. App Store and Google Play review on each release.
DiscoverySearch engines, links and ads lead straight in.Mostly app store search and your own marketing.
Best forSaaS, dashboards, portals, desktop-heavy work and data entry.Daily-use consumer apps, camera, GPS, offline use and rich push.

Frequently asked questions

How much does web app development cost?

A web app MVP typically costs $15,000–$40,000 and takes 6–10 weeks. A clickable prototype runs $5,000–$12,000, and a full platform with mobile apps, integrations and AI features is usually $40,000–$120,000+. These are typical ranges, not quotes; the free app plan gives you a specific estimate for your scope.

How long does it take to build a web app?

Most web apps take 6–10 weeks to reach a production MVP, including about a week of discovery and one to two weeks of design. Simple internal tools can be faster, while multi-role platforms with many integrations take three to six months. You see working progress on a live link every week.

Should I build a web app or a mobile app first?

Build a web app first if your users work at a desk, need to find you through search, or you want to launch and iterate quickly. Choose a mobile app first if the product is used daily on the go or depends on camera, location, offline use or push notifications. Many products start on the web and add React Native apps later on the same backend.

What is a progressive web app (PWA)?

A progressive web app is a website that behaves like an installed app. Users can add it to their home screen, open it full screen, receive notifications on supported devices and use parts of it offline. It is a practical middle ground when you want an app-like experience without publishing to the app stores yet.

Will my web app be good for SEO?

Yes, if it is built for it. We render public pages on the server so search engines can read them, and add metadata, a sitemap and structured data. We also aim for strong Core Web Vitals, since speed affects both rankings and conversions. Logged-in product screens do not need to be indexed and are kept out of search.

Who owns the code for my web app?

You do. On full payment you own the source code and intellectual property. The code lives in your own repository from the start, and hosting, Stripe and other accounts are set up in your name, so you are never locked in to us.

Can you add payments and subscriptions?

Yes. We integrate Stripe for one-time payments, subscription plans, free trials, coupons and invoices, plus a customer billing portal. Access in your app follows each customer's plan automatically, so upgrades, downgrades and failed payments are handled without manual work.

Do you work with clients outside New Mexico?

Yes. We are based in Albuquerque but work remotely with clients across the US and internationally. Communication runs through weekly demos, a shared project board and direct messages with the engineer building your app.
